UFC light heavyweight veteran Keith Jardine will see action outside of the UFC's octagon for the first time since 2004 in a battle with Trevor Prangley. The fight will take place on Sept. 11 during Shark Fights 13 from Lubbock, Texas.
The fight will serve as a light heavyweight non-title fight for upstart Shark Fights. Prangley (22-6-1) is 1-1-1 in his last three fights, and last saw action suffering a submission loss to Tim Kennedy during Strikeforce: Los Angeles in June.
"I'm looking forward to getting back in the cage after my last feeble performance," Said Prangley, during an interview with Sherdog. "Keith is a super tough opponent and a real nice guy. It's good to see Shark Fights getting the higher caliber fighters and putting on consistently better shows."
Meanwhile, Jardine (15-8-1) looks to break a four-fight losing streak against the likes of Matt Hamill, Ryan Bader, Thiago Silva, and Quinton Jackson. Jardine, who trains under the watchful eye of Greg Jackson, has notable victories against Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin -- but has been unable to string together a dominant run in the UFC.
I look forward to seeing how Jardine reacts -- will he bounce back strong against a veteran, or will he fall further?
